Jazz For Two

Jazz for Two

After the death of his Jazz musician brother, Han Tae-yi loses his will to live. One day, a Skilled pianist, Yoon Se-heon, starts at the school, and Tae-yi catches him playing Jazz. Reminding him of his brother, he resents Se-heon at first, but Se-heon doesn't share that sentiment and tries to constantly befriend Tae-yi despite being shut down multiple times.
Seo Do-yoon has liked Song Ju-ha since he saved him from being beaten up, when he confesses one day, Ju-ha tells him he's disgusting. But does he really think that?

- I'm not getting sued, so this is my own synopsis. If you want a good one, Google is available ✌
For this drama, I found it to be quite underwhelming. I watched many edits on TikTok and YouTube, and thought it looked good, but those edits literally show the only good bits in the series.
The characters weren't the problem; it was the pace of the story. It started off strong, but only got worse from there. The first 6 episodes were slow burn and just really slow. The last 2 episodes: it was like they forgot to give this series an ending and crammed what would normally be at least 4 long episodes into an hour.

The main focus of the story is on the main couple, Tae-yi and Se-heon. I liked them, I thought their story was good and all, but they gave off friend vibes more than a couple, I was like "aw cute friendship" rather than "aw cute couple".  I much preferred the second couple more; I loved their story and the way it evolved, I finished the drama just for them.
A couple things that annoyed me; they got together and broke up and got together again in the same episode (as in officially announced it, see what I mean by cramped), the breakup lasted all of 5 minutes and was for s silly reason and Se-heon was so quick to forgive Tae-yi after a simple apology after he assaulted him, like what excuse me.

Don't take all this as I didn't enjoy the drama, because I did. It was a quick drama that I could just watch and not have to think. I did like the storyline concerning the dead brother and the second chance kind of thing, and it was watchable, some things just aren't. Also, the songs they played in it are really good. The manga is better, though.
I wouldn't watch this again, but it was a good watch when I did. I just wish they made the episodes longer or included more so the story wasn't squished, also I wish they gave the second couple more screen time.

Overall rating: 6/10

Watch this drama if you like...

  • slowburn
  • short episodes
  • enemies to lovers (loosely)
  • cute second couple
  • grump x sunshine
  • music-based series
  • school setting

Is it spicy?

Not really, the series is kind of dry in that sense. There is about one kiss per couple throughout the whole series. Tae-yi and Se-heon's is in the last episode, and Do-yoon and Ju-ha's is in episode 3. There were a couple of less intimate but cute moments though in it, my favourite is between Ju-ha and Do-yoon in episode 7. 😍😨

The acting in this series, I understood the differences between the characters and their personalities. The sadness in the breakup needed a bit more. I felt Tae-yi was more emotional when he found out that Se-heon was in his house. But it was good overall, Tae-yi having an unbreakable demeanour tells me a lot about what he was feeling regarding the death of his brother.

My favourite character was Do-yoon, he was hilarious (his want for an iPad was hilarious), he was always bouncy and happy, which reminded me of myself. His way of dealing with being rejected was to follow the man around more, which is so real 😭😭 he made me smile and laugh so much in this series. Also he looks so cute in his blue hair.

where to watch...

I watched the series on my favourite website Kisskh - the greatest website where so many dramas are available with only pop-up ads that barely disrupt your watching, not like the 30 second ones.

other available sites ...  (for free BTW)
  • Bilibili
  • Dailymotion (ads)
  • Facebook (just search it up)
  • Blzone (Here)
  • myasianTV
  • dramacool
  • Febspot (only in Korean, no subs)
*I'm sure there are many more; these are just a couple I can think of and have researched
